Light The World

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (more commonly known as the Mormon church) is doing a wonderful campaign to help us all celebrate this Christmas season. It runs from December 1 - December 25.

Each day there is a little video here to give you an idea of what you can do that day to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ and spread joy through service to those around us. Mormon.org also has some great idea's each day and you can see what others are doing to #LightTheWorld.

My family is doing this and would love to invite you to join as well! Comment below or send me an email and let me know what you're doing to share His light this Christmas season. We would love to hear what you all are doing!

Merry Christmas!

UPDATE: This evening (12/1/2017) our family went to our local Burger King for dinner. It was soon apparent that two cute little kiddo's were hanging out while their parent worked. They were probably between six and nine years old. They were so good! I think my kids would have torn that place apart! They had been entertaining themselves with their drink cups and about twenty straws each! My kids thought it was great.

But, watching them, they were bored! And then I remembered #LightTheWorld and an idea was born! Our opportunity to serve was bundled up in those two cute little kids. I quickly shared my idea and everyone was on board. We hurried and finished eating and headed to the store. We picked up some crayons, coloring books, a little tic-tac-toe game and a gift bag and hurried back to Burger King. Sure enough! Those two littles were still perfect angels patiently waiting for their parent. We sent the girls in with the bag and I watched through blurry eyes as my sweet girls said hello and that we had brought them something. They had the crayons out and were coloring before we left the parking lot.

The best part was seeing the look on my kids' faces. "That felt good!" Yes, Kyleigh. It certainly did.

Tonight we watched the video for tomorrow. Spoiler alert...we are taking a case of water to our local food pantry in the morning!
